Morgan Barnard
DESIGNER-DIRECTOR/FILM-MAKER
Morgan Barnard is a new media designer and digital artist who specializes in real-time performance-based manipulation of digital media. He is curretnly intersted in creating new workflows for post-production using custom hardware and software solutions. He has directed numerous music videos, documentaries, TV shows and short-form pieces since graduating from California College of the Arts (CCA) in 1997 and NYU’s Graduate Studies Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) program in 2005.
Morgan most recently has been developing an artform that resides on the confluence of public spaces, private narratives and social responsibility.
Morgan currently lives in Wellington, New Zealand and teaches digital design and video at Victoria University of Wellington. He is also working as a freelance director/editor/designer and is showing his groundbreaking fine-art video work in galleries and symposia around the world. He has most recently created commissioned original work entitled “reflections” for the Melbourne Urban Screens Conference in Australia.
